[NHCOLL-L:2175] peat with leaf

I have received a specimen of peat with a leaf embedded in it and I 
have no idea how to preserve it. I would appreciate any input  - even 
a name of someone to contact.

The sample was collected under seawater from peat that had been 
buried under marine sand and  was recently exposed during a severe 
hurricane. At the moment I have the sample in a ziploc plastic bag in 
a very cold refrigerator.
