Very sad news........ Dr. John Eisenberg has passed away.  

Dr. Eisenberg retired in Washington state a couple of years ago after serving Ordway Professor of Ecosystem Ecology at the University of Florida for many years as, as well as Director of the Florida Museum of Natural History.  

He had a genuine way of turning people onto his passion of Neotropical Mammals like nobody I've ever met.  I had the good fortune to work directly with him at length on tapir publications.  

He will be sorely missed..........
