[NHCOLL-L:2096] scorpions and UV light

scorpions and UV lightOur museum is doing research for an exhibit on scorpions and I have been asked to post the following:  If you know of anyone who has done research on scorpions, please advise.

The questions are:  1.  Why do scorpions glow under UV light?  Can they see UV light and therefore find a mate or avoid another scorpion?  2.  do they navigate with polarized moonlight as do the dung beetle of Africa?  Can other animals (which ones) see the scorpions at night with UV lighting to avoid them or find them for food?
