There is now just two weeks to go until Early Bird Registration for
SPNCH 2005 ends on 15th April 2005. Getting your registration forms in
by this date will ensure your place at the conference and the lower
registration fee. A huge response to the call for papers has resulted in
an exciting conference programme.

Early registration fees are 160GBP for members of host organizations and

The Conference
Celebrating 20 years of the Society for the Preservation of Natural
History Collections (SPNHC), the theme for the first meeting outside
North America will be current standards in the care and management of
natural history collections. A work-shop will review the assessment of
current standards, benchmarking of collection condition and
implementation of base line standards for natural science collections.
Two more workshops will focus on Integrated Pest Management and Risk
Management. The conference will also focus on the building and
strengthening of international networks.
Pre-conference Field trips will be to: 1) The Walter Rothschild
Zoological Museum, Tring; the Natural History Museum's site in
Hertfordshire plus bird watching 2) The Oxford University Museum of
Natural History plus geology fieldtrip 2) The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
including herbarium. 4) The Horniman Museum, London 
This meeting is organised by the Society for the Preservation of Natural
History Collections in conjunction with The Natural Sciences Collections
Association, The Geological Curators Group, ICOM-CC Natural History
Collections Working Group and is hosted by The Natural History Museum,
London.
