The University of Michigan Museum of Zoology Mollusk Division is seeking two
Curatorial Assistants.

DUTIES:
Will work closely with the Mollusk Division Collections Coordinator. Duties
include use of relational database to enter data from specimens and paper
catalogs; assigning latitude and longitude data to specimens through the use of
paper and online maps; reconciling collections with paper catalogs and technical
literature; preparing and housing specimens using specialized preservation
processes; typing forms, lists and labels for specimens; assisting in the
organization and maintenance of the collections including sorting and filing of
specimens and artifacts; assisting in packing, shipping and unloading of
collections materials both for loans to other institutions, as well as
reorganizing the collections themselves; photographing specimens and artifacts,
and cataloging and storing digital images.

DURATION: Full-time; 4 Years

SALARY: $27,400 plus benefits

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:  Bachelor's degree. Experience with computer database programs.
Desired: Good organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work
independently. Experience working with museum biological collections, and
experience in georeferencing preferred.
