Limited space is available in the following courses at the Campbell Center 
for Historic Preservation Studies. Details can be found at the Center's web

Scholarships are available for each of these courses. 
                
"Care of Plastics" $815
This course focuses on environmental factors affecting plastic artifacts 
and plastic components (e.g., buttons) and strategies for their preservation.
Course Dates: August 15-18, 2005 
Registration Deadline: July 22, 2005

"Care of Leather & Fur" $860.
This course focuses on proper methods of care, handling, storage, 
and display of leather, fur, and other skin materials, in addition to introducing 
participants to methods of cleaning, repairing, and reshaping different types of skin material
Course Dates: August 15-18, 2005
Registration Deadline: July 22, 2005

 "Preservation of Archives" $835
The goal of this course is to provide the participant with a foundation 
for making long-term preservation decisions about a variety of archival holdings.
Course Dates: August 24-27, 2005

Located in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation 
Studies offers continuing education to meet the training needs of individuals 
who work to preserve historic landscapes and cultural, historic, and artistic 
properties. Workshops and courses last from two days to two weeks. 
Students are housed in dormitories on the campus of the former Shimer College, 
a group of 14 structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 
Mt. Carroll is in the Northwest corner of Illinois, about 2 ½ hours from Chicago.
