Scholarships are available for each of these courses.
Funding Collection Care: A Grant Writing Workshop
Designed for curatorial staff of the small- to medium-sized museums,
this course teaches the skills necessary to secure funding for collections care.
Course Dates: June 27-29
Registration deadline June 15
Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery
Course Dates: July 6-9
This course addresses the process of "risk management" by examining
in detail how to prepare for and respond to disaster.
Registration deadline: June 29
Photographic Documentation & Digital Imaging of Museum Collections
Course Dates: July 11-14
Designed for preservation professionals who have little or no
imaging/photographic experience, this course provides an introduction to
documentation photography using digital imaging technologies.

Located in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation
Studies offers continuing education to meet the training needs of individuals
who work to preserve historic landscapes and cultural, historic, and artistic
properties. Workshops and courses last from two days to two weeks.
Students are housed in dormitories on the campus of the former Shimer College,
a group of 14 structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Mt. Carroll is in the Northwest corner of Illinois, about 2 ½ hours from Chicago.
