[NHCOLL-L:2640] RE: plastic and thymol

About seven years ago I had some questions about plastics and
performance (regarding HDPE open head drums for storage of ethanol).  I
was able to get some very helpful information from the American Society
of Testing and Materials; specifically, the people with the ASTM
Committee D20 on Plastics.

I haven't tried this yet.  Does anyone know if nalgene containers or
other plastic containers will work for glycerin with thymol?  I need to
ship some larger cleared and stained specimens and if I can avoid glass
jars it should be better.

does thymol cause problems with any plastics?
