Dear All,

As part of an accreditation manual, I need to establish the historical
significance of natural history specimens. Although this can be done quite
intuitively with older collections, I need to apply the same criteria to
more recently acquired material, such as post-1950..

I have come across several definitions/criteria to establish historical
significance in a cultural context, but none of these easily translate to
natural history specimens. Does anybody know of a definition specifically
for natural history specimens or the source where I could find one?

Many thanks

Sammy
