Hello everyone!

 

We're actively searching for a natural history registrar at the New
Jersey State Museum.   This is a civil service position, and because
we're getting ready to move collections into a brand new compact storage
system, we're very anxious to get someone on board soon.   Time is

Definition:
Under general direction, in the Department of State, determines, plans,
executes, and makes decisions for the maintenance and preservation of
all objects in the Bureau of Natural History and those on loan to the
New Jersey State Museum; supervises the recording and management of data
on collections and materials entering or leaving the museum; monitors
the location, condition, and documentation of all items in the
collection and on loan to the museum; does other related work.

 
REQUIREMENTS
 
EDUCATION:  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a
Master's Degree in Paleontology, Geology or Zoology, or a related
physical science.
 
EXPERIENCE:  One (1) year of experience involving natural history field
and laboratory work involving the research and identification of natural
history materials. 
 
License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license
valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than
employee mobility is necessary to perform the essential duties of the
position.
