Subj: Flooding: Summary of 6.18.08 Call and New Resource

TO: Members of the Heritage Emergency National Task Force
and Directors of State Cultural Heritage Agencies

Thanks to all who participated in the conference call yesterday. We are
particularly grateful to representatives from the flooded areas who took time to
share information on damage and response efforts. A summary of the call is
posted at _http://www.heritagepreservation.org/PROGRAMS/TFtranscript.html_
(http://www.heritagepreservation.org/xxx) .

The next call will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 11:00 am EDT
(10:00 am CDT). To join the call, phone 800/820-4690 and enter 7034821.

Please note. Heritage Preservation, in support of the Heritage Emergency
National Task Force, has created a new Web page on the Midwest flooding at
_http://www.heritagepreservation.org/PROGRAMS/TFcurrent.html_
(http://www.heritagepreservation.org/PROGRAMS/TFcurrent.html) . It is one click away from the
Heritage Preservation home page. The page includes links to information
resources for cultural heritage institutions and sites, as well as contact
information for relevant state agencies.

A new feature linked to this page is a form where you may post (1) reports
on damage, (2) information on response efforts, and (3) requests for
assistance. The information submitted can be viewed in a report sorted by type of
posting and state. Our staff has already entered information that we have
received as of noon today. If you will begin posting reports and requests directly
on the form rather than e-mailing them to us, information will be available
more quickly. We will monitor the postings, and we hope you will let us know of
any kinks in the system. Thank you!

Remember that we have a limited number of Emergency Response and Salvage
Wheels for state agencies to donate to hard hit areas. Contact us at
_taskforce at heritagepreservation.org_ (mailto:taskforce at heritagepreservation.org) .

Again, our thanks for your participation in the call.

Jane Long
Vice President, Emergency Programs
