I agree with Alexandra that this is a capital "T"; it's consistent with
many 19th century handwriting styles that I have seen. I found another
Dodsworth citation (from 1913) that notes collecting Peregrine falcons
in Simla. See The Black Shaheen Falcon (Falco peregrinus peregrinator
Sundevall 1837), its Morphology, Geographic Variation and the History
and Ecology of the Sri Lanka (Ceylon) Population. Hermann Dottlinger,
2002, ISBN-10: 3831136262.

Dodsworth also appears to be mentioned in this history compilation:
Battling for Survival : India's Wilderness Over Two Centuries. Edited by
Valmik Thapar, Oxford University Press, 2003, xii, 444 p, ills, ISBN :
0-19-566293-8.

I think the middle initial is "T" not "J." Not sure what
the no. 49 could refer to.

Try these references listed below, taken from a
publication: Bibleography of Birds of North India. Sujit
S. Narwade, Girish A. Jathar & Asad R. Rahmani. Buceros.
Bombay Natural History Society. Link:
