The Registrar will be expected to travel domestically and internationally; approximately 25% of their time will be spent outside of the office, with individual trips ranging from a few days to four weeks long.

The Associate Traveling Exhibitions Registrar must have excellent interpersonal skills, sound written and oral skills, a flexible personality, and the ability to handle periods of stress and long hours, as evening and weekend hours are occasionally required. Candidates must have experience in collections and records management; object handling, lifting, and moving; exhibition display and installation; conservation practices; legal issues; customs matters; fine art packing, crating, and shipping; traveling exhibition registration and loan practices; and museum insurance practices. Candidates must have knowledge of museum policies and procedures according to AAM standards. Candidates must be familiar with various computer applications, with demonstrated proficiency in database management. At least two years experience with Museum collections handling, registration, and traveling exhibitions is required. While formal training is preferable, experience is a key factor to performing this job confidently to a high standard.
