For clarification, when I asked about a supplier for passé-partout , I was meaning a black, gummed, heavy (and usually textured) paper tape with a longitudinal crease used for taping right-angle, glass-to-glass edges in e.g. Victorian cases of stuffed birds. Possibly called something else in other places. It was probably the same thing (or very similar) that was used to bind the edges of some old lantern slides as well.

Does anyone know of a supplier of passé-partout or if it has been replaced by another material/tape? Any suggestions will be welcome. Our conservator's had trouble locating a supplier of this for repairing old sheet glass enclosures.
