White  House nominates Susan H. Hildreth to be the next Director of  the 
IMLS

On September 29, the White House  sent a _nomination_

e2969&e=2209f40f73)  to  the Senate for Susan H.  Hildreth to become 
Director of the _Institute  of Museum and Library Services_

d68&e=2209f40f73) .  Hildreth most  recently held the position of City 
Librarian for Seattle,  Washington.  Her bio from that position can be seen

Change  in NEH Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections Grants  Deadline
Please note  that the deadline for Sustaining Cultural Heritage  
Collections grants has changed to December 1, 2010 (from  November 16, 2010).  The 
start date for a project also  changes to September 2011 (from July 2011). For
