Registrations are open and the program is finalised for the upcoming Museums Australia National conference.

The conference will be held at the University of Adelaide from 24 to 28 September, read more about the program and keynote speakers here:  http://www.ma2012.org.au/.  

Addressing the theme 'Research and Collections in a Connected World', a diverse program includes notable international guests and representatives of a broad range of Australian institutions. 

Key guests include: 
- Dennis Stevenson, Vice President for Botanical Science at the of New York Botanical Gardens
- Roy Clare, Director, Auckland War Memorial Museum
- Professor Amareswar Galla, Executive Director - International Institute for the Inclusive Museum, Copenhagen and Professor of World Heritage & Sustainable Development, University of Split
- Dr Robin Hirst, Director of Collections and Research, Museum Victoria
- Dr Catherine Hughes, Atlanta History Centre, founder of the International Museum Theatre Alliance, theatre practitioner and educator
- Nigel Sutton, NDS Productions, leaders in Australian museum theatre
- Jill Austin, Chicago History Museum, award winning public historian
- Victor Steffensen, Mulong Productions
- Dr Sarah Kenderdine Museum Victoria and City University, Hong Kong. 

These key international and local guests will be complemented by a broad program including themed sessions on visitor research and engagement, research collaboration and use of collections, sharing and working with collections online and developments in exhibition practice, among many other topics. Museum professionals from around Australia will also lead a range of hands on workshops.

As part of your Full Conference or Conference Day registration, you are also able to attend the Regional, Remote and Community Museums Day on Friday 28 September. This will include practical workshops and discussion sessions aimed at those working in volunteer-run organisations with limited resources.
