How did I learn that Nalgene bottles have a limited shelf life?
We had a bird gut collection that somehow found its way into my invertebrate alcohol rooms (presumably because ducks ingest invertebrates, I don’t know). Hundreds of Nalgene bottles full of nominally pickled avian digestive tracts. Curious as to the resilience of the plastic, I absent-mindedly picked a bottle off the shelf at about head height and gave it a squeeze. Don’t do this. Burning the clothes might remove the physical cause of the stink, but it’s imprinted in your brain forever.
