Job Summary

Under supervision of the curators and Department Head, manages the teaching and scientific specimen collections in the Angelo State Natural History Collections (ASNHC), including the herbarium (plants); mammals, birds, reptiles & amphibians, and frozen tissues (3/4 time). Coordinates field laboratory experiences for biology courses and conducts community outreach (1/4 time) for the Department of Biology and other science departments at ASU, including Science Days program, tours of the ASNHC for student recruiting, and schedules for student and faculty speakers for area schools. Oversees student workers in the ASNHC. Trains volunteers and oversees volunteer program for the ASNHC. Prepares reports as needed.


Operational management of teaching and scientific specimen collections in the Angelo State Natural History Collections (ASNHC), to include the herbarium (plants); mammals, birds, reptiles & amphibians, and frozen tissues.
Serves as lab coordinator for courses utilizing the Angelo State Natural History Collections, to include organizing and coordinating field laboratory experiences and departmental biodiversity surveys.

Maintenance of ASNHC web page and production of annual ASNHC newsletter for Biology alumni and science colleagues.
Participates in museum programs and outreach activities, the museum profession, and workshops, seminars, and other forms of professional development.
