The position is accountable for the implementation of policies, systems and procedures to manage the Vertebrate Collections ((amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals), including managing access to the Collections.

Notable skill sets required for this position include:

Expert knowledge of the taxonomy of one or all of the following vertebrate groups: amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. In particular, knowledge of ornithology and/or herpetology will be highly regarded.
Knowledge and experience in managing a Vertebrate Collection within a museum,
Knowledge and experience in the collection, preparation and preservation/conservation in one or all of the following groups - amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals - under field and laboratory conditions.
Experience in developing and implementing collection management policies and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide written and verbal advice to key stakeholders within and beyond the Museum.
Experience at contributing to scientific publications, popular literature and on-line and multimedia products
