Here is a good mammalian example we recently used in attached paper.  MSB 55245 Andalgalomys pearsoni (http://arctos.database.museum/guid/MSB:Mamm:55245).

Collected in 1984 and has now been used in 17 different pubs, most recently this year .

We're using the simple story of "Super Pato" to help people understand why collecting whole animals for preservation in research collections is the way to maximize bang for buck in field biology.
