The SPNHC annual conference with partners NatSCA and GCG, is continuing to take great shape - http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/spnhc2014.

Some recent updates to the program are;


*         The schedule for the conference workshop 'Legal aspects of shipping preserved animals and tissues' has been updated. http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/media/30765/Shipping_workshop_-SPNHC-2014.pdf. This will be a very full day's workshop covering issues such as the current legal framework around shipping specimens, the introduction of the Access Benefit Sharing (ABS) / Nagoya Protocol and the IATA regulations. A beer in a local pub will follow! It is possible to attend this workshop outside of the conference itself.

*         NEW Breakout Session - Unlocking Evidence: Scientific Collections and Environmental Change. Evaluating and predicting change in the global environment is the largest scientific and policy challenge of our time. Natural history and other scientific collections offer relatively under-utilized or under-integrated sources of critical evidence about the past, and hold the potential for refining our understanding of how natural systems respond to environmental change. http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/media/31183/SciCollNHM_SPNHC-18Mar14.pdf
