We use similar boxes for our dry skeletal material in our fish and herp collections here at KU. We have found them to be very useful and they seem to stand up to the "elements" very well. We have seen to cracking, crazing, frosting or general deterioration in many years of usage.
The link to where we obtain our boxes is https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.durphypkg.com_unhinged-5Fboxes.pdf&d=AwIFAw&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=CLFZJ3fvGSmDp7xK1dNZfh6uGV_h-8NVlo3fXNoRNzI&m=jvFQXTEoxP_ea4vcX8oyI435NpIcpq1HMu_oI72yuSk&s=_jXpi_YWQeljDatKHDtThAynPVTqi08__GKYWZr7wgA&e= . They also have hinged varieties.

Hi All,
Is anyone familiar with PET Clamshell boxes made by Gaylord (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.gaylord.com_Preservation_Archival-2DStorage-2DBoxes_Multipurpose_Gaylord-2526-2523174-253B-2DClear-2DPET-2DClamshell-2DFlat-2DLid-2DArchival-2DBoxes-2D-2528125-2DPack-2529_p_PET208-29-3F&d=AwIFAw&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=CLFZJ3fvGSmDp7xK1dNZfh6uGV_h-8NVlo3fXNoRNzI&m=Pxai56t22wbiGDtJe8IJqgLoWKIm5dGOEmx5iV1qnz0&s=8OMTsgW4HMF5rFly2VcVKf6U8QMPIrJkdfheIUTDnIA&e=
We are looking to upgrade many of our medium-sized mammal skull boxes and trays and like the idea of transparent housing. The boxes are made of an anti-static archival material (polyethylene terephthalate). It would be great to hear from folks with experience with this product in terms of its durability/flimsiness, lid closure strength, general weathering of handling and long-term storage, etc.
Thanks!
Emily
