Somewhat ironically, I suppose, it appears they are or were a Sharpie product (See below).

An indirect benefit? These devices are useful for separating your peers into separate clades. Those who know how to properly-peel off the outer wrapping to expose more of a writing tip and those who do not. Quite funny to observe, actually. :)

Hi Rob,

That looks good, close to what we would like. One problem we are finding is that while medical tape sticks very well to phenolic resin lids, our recent batches of PP lids seem to randomly reject it. I suspect this is because the factory is using a mold release agent, either sprayed into the mold or added to the plastic itself. Writing directly onto the plastic gets around that. Can you tell me the details of the white and colored pencils you're using?
