[Nhcoll-l] Liquid on Heron Legs

Hello Everyone,
While doing some work in our ornithology storage I noticed that several of the heron, egret, and ibis legs seem to be leeching some form of liquid, I have attached some pictures.  The specimens are from the 1880s.  Has anyone seen this before/know what should be done to mitigate the issue?
