[Nhcoll-l] Tanned Hide & Fur Curation

Are there published recommendations for curating large, tanned hides and
furs? I talking about whole hides, not taxidermy mounts or garments.
Is cool/cold storage recommended/necessary? Are there commercial curation
solutions available for large hides (e.g., deer, zebra, African bovids,
etc.).
Recommendations and best practices would be appreciated.
