[Nhcoll-l] Discontinuation of photo e-boxes

Hi all,

The Mid-Atlantic Megalopolis TCN ran into this problem while ordering
equipment, resulting in a few participants who could not get the box from
MK Digital. We couldn't find anything comparable, and didn't like the
Ortery box. So, we are now working with a local fabricator (Philadelphia
area) to design a custom box for herbaria-specific imaging. We are not in
the prototype phase yet but hope to have a product within the next few
months. I can't say for sure if it will work for other collection types.
But, if anyone else is anticipating this as a problem, we may have a
workable solution that your can order from this fabricator.

There was another equipment problem we ran into - both Canon and Sigma 50mm
macros have been discontinued. We are designing the new box to work with
other macro lenses in case another 50mm does not come back on the market.
