[Nhcoll-l] Discontinuation of photo e-boxes

Hi Sarah,

I haven't used the Ortery box, but I don't think shadows would be a problem given the box emits diffused light.  We occasionally use the Orte Photo e-Box with a photo tank for imaging preserved fish. Image of setup attached.

Has anyone used the Ortery box Ann suggested (the $3200 model) with a photo tank? We would be placing a glass photo tank filled with fluid and dead fish inside, and I'm wondering if the corner lights would cast shadows through the tank.

They are not that much more expensive in total, because you don't need a camera stand. Archbold Bio Station and Rocky Mtn Bio Station are using one successfully for a variety of collections.

I am trying to get a light box for our collection, but it appears that all the MK Digital Direct (aka Orte) photo e-boxes have been discontinued. I can't find one for sale anywhere. Does anyone know what is going on with the manufacture of these products? Has anyone found a substitute product?
