Congressman G. K. Butterfield (D-NC) and Congressman David B. McKinley
(R-WV) led 162 of their colleagues in a bipartisan letter to the House
Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies, urging
Congress to provide $8 billion in funding to the National Science
Foundation in the Fiscal Year 2018.

This annual 'dear colleague' letter demonstrates to the House
Appropriations Committee that there is bipartisan support for investment in
NSF's research, education, and scientific infrastructure programs.
