[Nhcoll-l] collections databases for small collections

Yeah, I'll always lean towards Specify Software for small collections. Yes,
it's complicated. Yes, it's hard to use. They all are, in one way or
another. Specify is free, and NSF supported (granted, not much anymore). I
like that you can customize the user interface, I feel this goes a long way
in giving each institution a way to help the database be a specialized tool
for each environment it's used in. An example of this would be I was able
to alter our loan form in such a way that we can now monitor how many
research loans we do in a year vs how many loans for outreach events and
the like.
