The job is a fed-permanent GS9-11—we are planning to hire several people off this call, with the resulting staff working in central, coordinated Collections Management roles that impact all divisions and collections. These roles will be central to many of the new, large-scale projects that will expand and improve the Museum’s capacity to care for, document, an provide access to it’s collections. These will be growth-oriented roles providing extraordinary possibilities to motivated and capable candidates.

I apologize for sending the email in the evening, much less one so close to the holidays. I wanted to let you know however, because of the unexpected time and pool-size limitations that have been placed on the recruitment. I expect (and hope for) a lot of interest in these positions. I don’t want to draw from your existing staff, but I hope you will pass this along to anyone you’ve worked with who might be looking around and who could meaningfully contribute from the start.
