Hey Walt,

Here is a little sketch of the way we keep our colonies:

It’s very simple:

The container 1 holds the second in a glycerol bath, so if a bug comes out it drowns in the glycerol.  The container 2 is a terrarium with the colonies. We put a heater beneath the whole thing so the colonies are warm. It gets pretty cold here in the Swiss winter.

Does anyone use heat tape on the outside door to their dermestid colony to prevent escape or is there another method recommended?
