[Nhcoll-l] Valuation of stolen specimens

I'm involved in the private collections sector.

Do you have photos of the specimens stolen? I can put it out to the network
of private collector and specimen markets out there and someone will report
it if it shows up for sale.

Same with the fossils.

Photos of any identifying marks will help greatly.

It would probably be passed off as a vintage specimen if it comes up for
sale, to get around questions about lack of paperwork.

The specimen collections community is large but very well connected. So if
it spread widely enough, the minute it comes up for sale somebody would see
it.

I don't have any current input for valuation. However pangolin specimens do
exist in the hands of private collectors and transactions do occur. I'll
reach out.
