Examples of responsibilities include:<o:p></o:p></p><ul style='margin-top:0in' type=disc><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Collections acquisition, processing, cataloging, computer input of data and care.<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Interpretation of collections for both scientific and public venues, including publications, exhibits, and public programming.<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Aiding the public with identification of natural objects.<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Assisting direction of and implementation of land management at OHS natural areas.<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Planning and implementation of new trails and trail repairs at OHS natural areas.<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Works closely with a number of site partners in the management and interpretation of OHS natural history sites.<o:p></o:p></li></ul><p class=MsoNormal>The Ohio Historical Society’s natural history collections currently include more than 29,000 specimens in our direct care, plus 215,000 specimens on long-term loan to the Ohio State University. Our natural areas include several Dedicated State Nature Preserves and National Natural Landmarks. The applicant should be accustomed to and capable of field work in all sorts of weather and conditions.
