Dear Andy,

Many thanks for your prompt response. Yes, I have checked ORNIS and GBIF databases. Both produced many results for Parus (rufiventris) pallidiventris. The only ones that were from west of the central Tanzanian rift are skins I've already located and studied (1 in Copenhagen, 1 in Leiden and 3 in Berlin).

Have you tried the ORNIS network at www.vertnet.org? There you can search multiple collections all at once for the specimens you are interested in. You could also try www.gbif.org for a larger set.
There are large numbers from Eastern Tanzania, esp. type localities including Songea, Ruvuma, Morogoro and Kilosa, of which I have an adequate sample size. If you have any specimens from western Tanzania, please email me the details.
