<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:Arial" lang="EN">Hosted by the Alberta Regional Group of the Canadian Association for
Conservation of Cultural Property, the “Conserving the Past, Embracing the
Future” conference invites presentations on all aspects of conservation,
including</span><span style="font-family:Arial">
Aboriginal people’s material culture, military and settlement collections,
industrial heritage and site restoration, fine art and outdoor public art,
archival records (traditional and digital), exhibits conservation (technical
and practical).</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:Arial" lang="EN">Two pre-conference workshops provide professional development with a
focus on technical know-how in service of conservation today. These are “3D
Scanning for Conservators,” taking place at the Northern Alberta Institute of
Technology Shell Manufacturing Centre on May 26 and 27, and “Conservation of
Audiovisual Collections,” held at the Provincial Archives of Alberta on May 27,
2015.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman""> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:Arial">The conference
offers opportunity for 20-minute-long formal papers and posters, and also </span><span style="font-family:Arial" lang="EN">an IGNITE SESSION for sharing ideas, experiences, issues and trends that
can be covered in 5-minute/20-slide talks. Emerging conservators are
particularly encouraged to present.</span></p>
