Yes. You must maintain accurate records of operations on a
calendar-year basis. Your records should reflect
the species collected, date collected, location (county and state)
where birds were collected, numbers collected and
disposition of all birds, including salvaged specimens. <br>

Note that this doesn't require an accession number and, of course,
if the specimens are given to another institution after the report
is filed, the annual report wouldn't reflect that. <br>
<br>
So there is overlap but it is not complete overlap.<br>

<p class="MsoNormal">I’d like to bring up a concern about the
DOI information collection request that I haven’t seen
discussed yet. From reading the proposal, it sounds like the
DOI, rather than its specific agencies, will be asking us
directly for information. As we all know, we already report
to the agencies under DOI and respond to annual reporting
requests, particularly from the NPS.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Will this DOI information gathering be
duplicating the work of its own agencies? Will we be
approached by multiple DOI-affiliated parties annually? Has
the DOI done a thorough job of working with its agencies to
find out what information they hold and collect?<o:p></o:p></p>
