The <b><u>first review of applications will begin March 30, 2015. <o:p></o:p></u></b></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'>The duration of each internship is flexible but will be for a minimum of 10 weeks and maximum of 6 months. <b><u>Housing and a stipend of $300 a week</u></b> are provided to offset expenses. These internships provide on the job experience to students that are seeking or have recently completed a certificate or masters in archival or museum studies, cultural or natural science, or other appropriate field of study.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'>Interns will select either an <b><u>Archives or Natural Science Collections Internship track.</u></b> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><u>The Natural Science Collections Intern</u></b> will work with the Natural Science Collections Manager on an IMLS funded project to address environmental improvements in the Museum of Northern Arizona’s Zoology Collections (specifically the avian osteology, mammal osteology, and mollusk and entomology holdings). This internship offers students an opportunity to gain experience rehousing specimens, labeling and inventorying holdings, updating database records, assisting with packing and move of collections into a new collection facility (Easton Collection Center), and participating in policy and procedure development.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><u>The Archives Intern</u></b> will work with the Archivist and Associate Archivist on an IMLS funded project to address urgent, top priority preservation needs of its photoarchive holdings. The Archives Intern will work on pilot project rehousing of photographic materials to help MNA determine the amount and type of cool and cold storage needed to stabilize this important holding.
