<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;line-height:150%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#3F3E3E">The Heritage Preservation Board of Directors recently voted to recommend dissolution of Heritage Preservation, Inc., effective
June 30, 2015. This difficult decision was based on a number of factors, including a careful and extensive review of Heritage Preservation’s programs, together with realistic current and future projections of the organization’s fiscal sustainability following
the loss of annual general operating support. The decision follows discussions with management consultants and legal advice from a law firm specializing in work with non-profit organizations. <br>
<br>
Negotiations are well underway to find new host organizations for Heritage Preservation’s many central and successful programs so they can continue and flourish. To date, the Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works
(FAIC) has stepped forward to assume administrative responsibility for a number of these programs.<br>
<br>
The completion and successful delivery of Heritage Health Information 2014 will continue to be Heritage Preservation’s principal activity for the first half of 2015, with results tabulated and disseminated to our members by late spring/early summer.<br>
<br>
In accordance with District of Columbia laws, representatives of all member organizations in good standing as of 2014 were asked to vote on the dissolution of Heritage Preservation, Inc. In the member voting process, a majority of members had to return ballots
for the vote to be effective. A majority of those members returning ballots must have voted in favor of the dissolution for the measure to pass. Ballots were due by April 15, 2015.<br>
<br>
As of 5:00 p.m. EDT on April 15, 2015, Heritage Preservation received 70 out of a possible 126 member votes, with 69 approving the dissolution and one vote against the dissolution, so the measure has passed.<br>
<br>
As part of the dissolution of Heritage Preservation, FAIC will receive the remaining net assets of Heritage Preservation after June 30, 2015. <br>
