I maintain a small teaching collection of bird and mammal skins here at Dickinson College in Carlisle PA.

specimens vary in age (some date back to early 1900s) and most are in good shape. Others were prepared by my students and vary in quality - some really nice, others not so. At times I have struggled with bugs getting into the colony likely because of the students
preps. Id like to keep this to a minimum. So Im looking for information on how I might maintain the colony to deter any unwanted bugs.
</span></font>We just moved to a new building and new Lane specimen cabinets have been installed. As I transfer the specimens I thought that if I were to treat the cabinets with any insect deterrent, now is the time.
