<p><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Dear Fellow Taxacomers,</span></p><p><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Dear Fellow nhcoll subscribers,</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">With the present message I want to draw your attention to the <u>peer-reviewed, open-access</u> journal <i>Abc Taxa</i>, journal dedicated to capacity building in taxonomy and collection management.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The aims of the journal <i>Abc Taxa</i> are presented on its website (<a target="_blank" href="https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.abctaxa.be&d=AwMFaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=CLFZJ3fvGSmDp7xK1dNZfh6uGV_h-8NVlo3fXNoRNzI&m=Gtv2aCtVyBIDytiN85gk2RhLWw3lM_pZ2m6yPYbdhxs&s=p2AIvwPewIfQarA__5dSFRz2EdDtbJP0hfQ5kuY8p-g&e=" title="This external link will open in a new window">www.abctaxa.be</a>) and are here repeated.</span></p><p> </p><p><i><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Abc Taxa</span></i><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> aims to accelerate taxonomic capacity building by clearing existing taxonomic know-how. Therefore each volume strives to provide a detailed state of the art needed to embark on the taxonomy of a particular living taxon. As such, each manuscript should at least include the following, preferably didactically illustrated, sections:</span></p><p> </p><ul><li><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">an introduction to the general biology of the taxon;</span></li><li><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">a description of the collecting methodologies commonly used for the taxon;</span></li><li><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">a description of the curatorial methodologies commonly used for the taxon;</span></li><li><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">a description of the characters employed in the taxonomy of the group;</span></li><li><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">an outline of the current classification of the taxon;</span></li><li><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">a guide to the identification of the members of the taxon in the region under study;</span></li><li><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">a list of key-references.</span></li></ul><p> </p><p><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Taxa can be considered at any hierarchical level above the species.
