to your particular situation. Unfortunately, clarity is hard to find and at the end of this project we still had a few very small but important labelling details we are looking to work with a conservation scientist to resolve.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<u>printing</u>, thermal transfer printing is certainly being widely adopted by those working with wet collections and libraries. The most useful specification we found was Library of Congress 700-713-09 which is aimed at dry collections. In particular Section
3.6 includes some very helpful details about thermal transfer printing inks (we want to follow up this info for wet collections).

<u>substrates</u>, for “dry” collections, I still personally favour archival paper labels over “paper-like” spun-bonded polyester. While paper is vulnerable to pest damage, so are your dry insect collections. In terms of relative longevity for
<u>dry</u> collections, archival paper has a longer proven track record but I also know that polyester is a very stable material. This is another area we want to resolve for ourselves for dry collections.

and will not get eaten by bugs. It also lasts a long time. We tested some labels for our ento collection and printing at 4 point font was no problem for the 400dpi printer outlined in the specs attached.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
