<p>Hi all,</p>
<p>I would like to know if there are any specific experiences (good
<u>and</u> bad) on DNA-storage tubes (normal freezing as we don't
have liquid-N storage).</p>
<p>We are using Matrix racks (sepra seals) and I want to change to
high quality skrew-lid tubes, but I am sceptical with the silicone
gasket in combination with the internal thread of the tubes.</p>
<p>Thermo says that the tubes are tight sealing (from liquid-N to
normal freezing and even room temperature), but if the gasket
starts to crumble, then the tubes necks are open. Also, gaskets
are made of silicone, which might cause issues with cold-flowing
behaviour and life span of the material.</p>
<p>Curious to hear your thoughts, especially if you have experiences
where things turned out to be not that good as originally promised
by the manufacturer (also off-line, if you wouldn't like to post
any failures to the broad public)</p>
