Could this be of help to you with oddly sized and/shaped specimens? Mostly, I've done this to creat dust covers for larger specimens and temporary sealing prior to freezing (pest eradication). If doing this, I would consider adding dry-packs to the bag. There is a brief discussion of this procedure in Hendry (1999, p. 15, linked).
