I am delighted to report that I have been inside the building with the UVM and fire department people and discovered that as far as I could tell from an admittedly rapid survey ALL of our accessioned collection is secure and dry. As you might imagine, the building is a mess— water everywhere and holes punched through the walls and roof, but we have our Herbarium and we will simply move on in our work, if somewhat impeded in the nearterm.</div><div style="color:rgb(49,49,49);word-spacing:1px" dir="auto"><br></div><div style="color:rgb(49,49,49);word-spacing:1px" dir="auto">You might be interested to know that the firemen spread waterproof tarps over the uppermost collection cabinets before they turned on the hoses.
