<p class="MsoNormal">I hope this email finds you well. I am not a list member, but a colleague suggested that this list might be able to help answer a couple of questions…<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Currently, my colleagues and I are trying to track down specimens of Galapagos tortoise. We’re familiar with the tortoises listed through Arctos and VertNet, and of course the main institutions with large collections (Smithsonian, Cal Academy,
AMNH, Field Museum, etc.). However, we suspect there are more tortoises out there…if possible, would you mind reaching out if you do have Galapagos tortoise collections?<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Also, as part of a project tracing the legacy of anthropogenic radionuclides (see here:
<a href="http://news.unm.edu/news/unm-lanl-to-study-radioactive-elements-in-tortoises">
http://news.unm.edu/news/unm-lanl-to-study-radioactive-elements-in-tortoises</a>), we are also searching for collections of organisms curated from sites with potential radionuclide releases into the environment. So, animals collected from the Marshall Islands,
or the Nevada Test Site, Hanford (WA), Oak Ridge (TN) or Savannah River (SC). Does anyone happen to have collections from those sites/locations? We are interesting in everything from turtles/tortoises, to fish, bees, and even mollusks.
