The anticipated start</span><br><span>date will be August 29, 2022. The successful applicant will maintain</span><br><span>a thriving research program and serve as the Director of a new Pathogen</span><br><span>Biorepository (M-PABI). M-PABI is part of the broader campus-wide MCIDT</span><br><span>initiative aimed at increasing capacity for, and coordination of studies</span><br><span>of, emerging infectious diseases at the University of Michigan. Successful</span><br><span>candidates will have research programs that engage a One Health approach</span><br><span>to understanding and predicting emergent zoonotic threats and address</span><br><span>disease ecology and evolution, relationships between environmental</span><br><span>health, host biodiversity and epidemiology, host-pathogen interactions,</span><br><span>and related areas. We specifically seek individuals with strengths</span><br><span>in developing research coordination networks, acquiring and utilizing</span><br><span>collections-based pathogen surveillance data, and quantitative methods</span><br><span>for integrating such data with models for monitoring and predicting</span><br><span>zoonotic emergence. Successful applicants will present a clear vision</span><br><span>for the role of the new biorepository in studying emerging infectious</span><br><span>diseases.
