<div dir="ltr">Hi All<div>This is what MVZ uses for most of our string- thread needs, for tying string onto herp, mammal, bird tags, etc (dry or wet).</div><div>We haven't ordered it in a while, so you might have to call around, we got it from Apparel City in San Francisco.</div><div><br></div><div><div>Here are details I sent to someone else some years ago, attached is a photo of the bottom of the spool:</div><div><br></div><div> The thread is made by Coats American, but only available through distributors. I last got it from Apparel City, and due to the size of our order they had to look around to other distributors. But, that is not a problem if you only need one. Apparel City might have one, might not. Or, you can look up Coats American and contacting various distributors.<br> I don't know how important all the jargon is, GL finish (that's the GLACE finish), the Tex 105, etc. But, these are the details on the tag on the bottom of the spool. Seems to work well, but they might ask you to be flexible on one or another factor. <p class="MsoNormal">I am with a Herpetology fluid collection in Oklaoma. We have been using the same string to tie on our specimen tags for my entire career here (both field tags and catalog tags). This string was bought in bulk in Brazil in the mid 2000s
and is finally running low. Our current administration has no contacts in South America nor any easy way to pay someone that could buy it for us. I am looking for an easily sourced alternative that is as similar as possible, and is definitely at least similar
thickness, 100% cotton, and white (photo attached of box, label, and string).<u></u><u></u></p>
