<p class="MsoNormal">A researcher (with permission) prepared thin-sections of about a hundred freshwater bivalve shells from our collection. The established protocol for making this type of thin sections is to use a common epoxy resin: “<a href="https://itwperformancepolymers.com/wp-content/uploads/2-Ton-Epoxy-TDS-v4.pdf">DevCon
2 Ton epoxy</a>” to mount the thin sections on glass slides. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Does anyone have any experience with slides (or anything else) mounted using this epoxy long-term? The main things I’m concerned with are yellowing and shrinking.

<p class="MsoNormal">The researcher will likely be making many more slides with this method, but is open to using another epoxy if I suggest one, so if there are more stable alternatives, I’d be happy to hear about them.
