<p class="MsoNormal"><font face="tahoma, sans-serif">The ACA at UBC,
the University of British Columbia Student Chapter of the Association of
Canadian Archivists, is delighted to invite you to its eighth annual Seminar
and Symposium, held on <b>February 10-12,
2016 </b>at the University of British Columbia. The theme of this year’s event
is “<b>Preserving Liquid Communication,” </b>with
a focus on the preservation of informal communications generated in cloud
environments through the use of social media. Archivists, records managers, and
other information professionals will discuss the nature of social media output,
the identification of what should be preserved, methods of preservation and
provision of access, and legal issues related to intellectual rights, privacy,
right to be forgotten, and more. Speakers will discuss these matters informally
with attending professionals, students, and professors at the Seminar on
February 10 and 11 (10:00am-4:00pm). The Symposium, featuring formal
presentations from speakers, will be held on February 12 (9:00am-5:00pm). </font></p>
