I just wanted to make sure that anyone interested in Sound Studies saw this event. You don’t even have to find a different room; it’s being held in WHC B04.

> Hello all,
>
> Many thanks to everyone who has participated in the first two meetings of the Digital Humanities Working Group! Our next meeting will take place on Monday, October 26 at 7 PM in WHC B04. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend -- including those who were unable to be at past events.
>
> Our upcoming discussion will focus on the vibrant relationships among the digital humanities, sound studies, and public engagement. A good introduction to sound studies can be found here <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__pzacad.pitzer.edu_-7Emma_teaching_MS114_readings_Sterne-2DSoundStudiesReader.pdf&d=AwMFaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=GF_dqn0Pnqwcvbrdw5pnZH_Tvi5PgD5CJrAWJBkjw1zX7Una5g23OniWIHGerKeR&m=qwEMRFDaO7CRfeMDn2EnATTwjF-8ooNKIqyghhNQjR0&s=TuYb6e9ajGNa_u09xMMeJHWEmnBZbJsO1Fn3WTOwJ7Q&e=>.

> We'll being the meeting by focusing on two recent projects -- Provoke  <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__soundboxproject.com_index.html&d=AwMFaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=GF_dqn0Pnqwcvbrdw5pnZH_Tvi5PgD5CJrAWJBkjw1zX7Una5g23OniWIHGerKeR&m=qwEMRFDaO7CRfeMDn2EnATTwjF-8ooNKIqyghhNQjR0&s=Cv7JKEqPoQtHvT-TeXC2tpzPiPsleD9LokIsfFsh7ak&e=>and The Roaring Twenties <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__vectorsdev.usc.edu_NYCsound_777b.html&d=AwMFaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=GF_dqn0Pnqwcvbrdw5pnZH_Tvi5PgD5CJrAWJBkjw1zX7Una5g23OniWIHGerKeR&m=qwEMRFDaO7CRfeMDn2EnATTwjF-8ooNKIqyghhNQjR0&s=JIf6u_4nvtthHxUcRfOfb5bGAte0LBA1qc9IRuGGifE&e=>. Next, we'll turn to Jennifer Stoever's blog post "Toward A Civically Engaged Sound Studies, or Resounding Binghamton <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__soundstudiesblog.com_2014_08_18_toward-2Da-2Dcivically-2Dengaged-2Dsound-2Dstudies-2Dor-2Dresounding-2Dbinghamton_&d=AwMFaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=GF_dqn0Pnqwcvbrdw5pnZH_Tvi5PgD5CJrAWJBkjw1zX7Una5g23OniWIHGerKeR&m=qwEMRFDaO7CRfeMDn2EnATTwjF-8ooNKIqyghhNQjR0&s=OqrMs0cyeGSEioGyZt1PqBE0yPQIZ5mSL961W7pTwAM&e=>," which raises questions related to pedagogy, public engagement, and the relationship between public and digital work. Finally, we'll consider a recent sound-based project from outside the university, West Side Stories: Mapping Gentrification in West Oakland <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__youthradio.org_westsidestories_&d=AwMFaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=GF_dqn0Pnqwcvbrdw5pnZH_Tvi5PgD5CJrAWJBkjw1zX7Una5g23OniWIHGerKeR&m=qwEMRFDaO7CRfeMDn2EnATTwjF-8ooNKIqyghhNQjR0&s=BZ2C7BNB_g0r246FhphsKJt92E_zbdWOCkcYRSqbRI8&e=>.
